| Three Shot Killers entered the Shadowrun Finals with a 2-0 lead on top-seeded Shoot to Kill. Usually a significant, fatal margin for the trailing team, StK sought to prove no deficit is too large in Shadowrun. Game 3 (first game of the Finals) started the continuation series on Nerve Center, an Attrition game. TSK jumped to a 2-0 lead, starting the match with two trees and two resurrects. StK countered, however, and grabbed the next two games, evening the score 2-2. That score was as close as StK would come in Game 1, as TSK ran to four straight round wins and took Game 3, 6-2. Nistic went ballistic, with 14 kills to just 5 deaths; ShenPanik also had a quality game, going 15-7. Down 3-0 in the series, things looked exceedingly bleak for Shoot to Kill. Between games, eXt decided to switch from an elf to a human, looking to shake things up. Long story short: it worked. StK dominated Attrition on Lobby (Small). They took the first four rounds, with the early human builds and handouts working to perfection. TSK managed to stop the hemorrhaging, taking two of the next three rounds, but that simply delayed the inevitable at 5-2. StK finished the game during the next round. eXt's human build led him to a 13-4 effort, buoyed by Ogre 2 and oNeEye, who each nabbed 11 kills and just six deaths. Despite the easy win, StK still trailed 3-1 in the series. |
